Set inside the historical grounds of the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, a World Heritage Site, this was our second time installing this extraordinary transparent air dome. Like last year, this dome was successfully installed by DBS Engineering in collaboration with ES Global Solutions and Gainsbury and Whiting, for the purpose of a once-in-a-lifetime fashion show.
This state-of-the-art dome is made out of a completely translucent membrane, that is reinforced and constrained by tensioned steel cables, which are anchored to a circular base. Since the fabric of this unique structure is translucent, spectators of the fashion show could enjoy both views of the fashion designs while simultaneously overlooking the Thames River and the historical World heritage site.
DBS Engineering produces air domes made out of high-quality materials that are durable and have a long life expectancy. This dome proves that the future of design is in sustainability and that quality designs deserve to be seen and used again.
It was a great honor for DBS Engineering to collaborate again with this renowned and established English fashion house and install this dome for them.
